I PROPOSE to-night to describe certain works that have been undertaken by the City Council of Melbourne within the past five years, for the purpose of improving the sanitary state of the city, in the hope that the subject may be of some interest to the members of this Institute, affecting as it does the health and comfort of the citizens generally.
